Memorial Holiday Toy Drive
a great success!
This years total....$5400.00!!!!!

We started our holiday toy drive, in memory of my brother William Oliva in 2006 as a way of helping the less fortunate in our community, as well as help teach our young players the true spirit of the holidays. William Oliva was a very caring, generous person, who always put others ahead of himself. The holidays were special to him, where he took great pride in sharing what he had with others who were in need. Through the Huntington Angels, his spirit lives on. Not only are we helping those who are in need, we are also teaching our players a very valuable lesson. Yes, we are a baseball team, but there is more to being an Angel than baseball. Its about teaching our young players responsibility, teamwork, and how important it is to be an active part of our community. I am so proud of all my young players and parents who donated money, gifts and their time for this great cause!  With your help, we purchased $5400.00 worth of toys, to go along with the countless toys that were donated!  I would like to extend a very special thanks to the following businesses for their extremely generous donations; Peter Curto of Curto and Curto Builders, James S Baloga of Consumers Kitchens and Baths, and Keith Delucia of Data Treasury. I would also like to thank the many listed below who donated money and or toys for this event. It warmed my heart when many of our young players came to us with $10 or $15 dollars of there allowance money. That is the true meaning of the holiday!!!! Lastly, we would like to thank the management of K-Mart in Huntington Station, who opened their registers and hearts to us, and helped us by dedicating three check out lanes, and donating 10% back towards the purchases!!

I am so proud to be part of the Angels family, and on behalf of the entire Oliva family, I thank you and wish you all a safe and healthy holiday season
